I respect differences of opinion among Rvers but to me, an area like that is everything I don't want when I go for a trip in the RV. I want nature, peaceful, and ranger programs about the natural features or history of the area, not touristy stuff. It is a place I have to get through in order to get into the national park.
x2 for us too
There are many people that want to do the mini golf, shopping for shot glasses, and getting a bright t-shirt thing and call it a vacation. Those people will love what PF and GB have become.
Yep - that's a very good summation. We now use a side route to bypass a lot of that and go directly to lesser visited parts of the National Park most of the time.

I do agree, but I like it both ways. I like the history and natural features of the area. if we want touristy then we hit the towns (anywhere USA).
