Place to stay in Fargo ND?

There are not a lot of choices of places to stay for a couple of nights in Fargo ND.
Between state park fees and bad reviews on RVparkreviews.com...

Anybody have any real world experience with campgrounds in Fargo?

I see there are a couple of Walmarts that allow overnight stays, but I think I want to drop the trailer and do a bit of exploring while we are there.

PS. I'm planning my 40+ day 7,000 mile trip!

  • We've stayed in the Fam Camp at the Air Force Base in Grand Forks but that is about 80 miles north. You may see if any campgrounds are close in MN.
  • Have you looked at Lindenwood Campground? It has some mixed reviews but it sounds like it has that important thing, location. We were in the area but made a small mistake in the place we stayed because it was further out of town. We stayed at Sheyenne Oaks Horse Camp-Rv. This would be the place if you were traveling with horses. It is on the edge of a big grasslands area.
