I am checking out all of these places.
How expensive, inexpensive are the ferries? We're a family of 5 and sometimes public trans ends up being more expensive when you multiply by 5. Other times when kids are free or younger kids, it works out. I'm going to check timetables and fares, but generally speaking, are they pricey for two parents and a 13, 11, and 7 yo?
The WA State ferries are relatively inexpensive if you aren't taking your car. For example, from Bainbridge to Seattle roundtrip costs $7.70 for an adult and $6.20 for a child. When we take our car from Port Townsend to Whidbey Island the roundtrip cost is ~$30 with a driver and one passenger. Taking our 40' MH and car one-way on that same trip was ~$80.
