One problem with most of the campgrounds in the area is that they are close to the highway -- noisy. We are not RV park lovers, but we have found Mt. Hood Village to be much quieter, especially if your site is away from the road.
And the hiking around Mt. Hood is great -- don't miss Tamanawas Falls, on the east side of the mountain.
