Please please- Do you know this place

I have a dream......... OK, kinda dramatic, but I am hoping someone would be so kind as to share where this place is. It is cool in August--- has water very close by--- and possibly a nice little golf course close also. Hopefully it will be within a days drive of Central Texas- and I can promise you one thing- it is not here. Really would love to hear any suggestions, even if it doesn't have water and golf- desperately need to find a cool place to go.
  • Kids might like the huge great wolf indoor water park

G,vine has two of the best golf courses in North Texas, G,vine Municipal and Cowboys. G,vine Muni is a city owned course with 36 very fun and challenging holes."

"Cowboys Golf Club is consistently ranked as one of Texas's top courses"
  • Inks Lake State Park. Don't know if golf course open but there are others nearby.
  • It's further away than you want to go, but take a look at Grayson Highlands SP in Virginia. It is about 5,000 ft above sea level and it gets downright cold up there in August and September, at least during the evenings and at night. It has waterfalls, creeks, etc. There are several golf courses that are less than 30 minutes away.
