Point of Rocks RV Park - Prescott, AZ - Verizon coverage?

We're planning on spending several weeks at this campground. I've read in reviews that WiFi is only available close to the office area. Was wondering if anyone knows how strong the Verizon signal maybe for data?

I will try checking in with the parks office on this too, but was looking for recent visitors opinions...

Thanks,
Smitty

  • Thanks TPI! I should have thought about checking RVPARKSREVIEWs...

And Roy - No problem, I did start out commenting on the parks WiFi. We too have the roof top cell antenna (Maximum Signal's), and feed a Wilson Sleek. We have a MiFi from Millecom on Verizon, which is currently turned off (activate it when on extended travels. My Verizon phone is still grandfathered into the Unlimited Data, so we use this most of the time for cell data coverage. We have the WiFi Ranger for supporting the pulling in of park WiFi.

    Thanks again,

  • A poster on rvparkreviews dated 4-2013 reported excellent Verizon air card signal at Point of Rocks. I dug back in the comments quite a few reviews to come to that nugget. Rvparkreviews should have a category for cellular reception even if it is beyond park control. It is very valuable info.

It pays to read reviews and travel blogs using google search to see if you can find this info. I'm completing a two week trip to rural Utah and found Verizon data coverage to be very spotty in places like Capitol Reef, Loa, Koosharem, Torrey, etc. There was basic roaming coverage at times but no data available.

We give up on depending on camp ground WIFI signals years ago... Some work and most do not especially when lots of users start downloading lots of data.

We went with the Verizon MIFI package that creates its own secure WIFI coverage for up to five of our WIFI enabled devices. This stand alone unit works anywhere our Verizon Cell phone works.

The unit is shirt pocket size so when we want to go the beach areas or hike the trails etc we just carry it along with us in the shirt pocket and bring along our tablets etc...

My MIFI unit sits in a WILSON SLEEK cradle in our camper which has an outside antenna and gives us secure WIFI coverage all around our camp site location...

Verizon seems to work for us just about anywhere we go even back off the power grid locations we like to go to...

NOTE: After rereading your post I may have commented on the wrong question. "Sorry bout that Chief' as Maxwell Smart says...
