Poole Knobs campground

Would appreciate anyone's suggestions on which of these sites at Poole Knobs have a great lake view and not too steep of driveway. We have never been here always camp at seven points but are wanting to try this one because we believe it might be closer to sons home in Brentwood, Tn.
Thanks Tara
  • Thanks to both of you for the replies. We just went ahead and made reservations for seven points. We noticed the campground at Poole Knobs has about all of their sites still available so that tells us to just pass it by! Thanks again, Tara
  • We have stayed at both places while also visiting our son and family in Brentwood. Poole Knobs is an older campground with smaller/hilly sites. Getting into several of them with our 43' MH is impossible without dragging severly. Our first trip there, we had a site that was up a steep grade and I wasn't going to tear up my rig, but there was a site that I would fit on that was available and I was able to change. Bottom line, I wouldn't make a reservation on a site there without knowing for sure that you would fit and get into it. Having said that, there were a few sites that that were good for a big rig.

We now prefer Seven Points because there are numerous sites that we can fit on and are easy to get into. As far as closeness to Brentwood, I feel that both campgrounds are about the same time line to get there.
  • Poole's Knob is about 9 miles from where I live. Never have camped there but have walked and driven through it a few times. I would say the spots on the western side would be better. I would look up the campground site on Recreation.gov, get a phone number, and call the host there. They should be able to help you in what you are looking for. We camped at Seven Points a few weeks ago and loved it. Time wise I would say you can get to Brentwood faster from there than Poole's Knob. Check it with Mapquest....
