Possible base camp in Maine

We have stayed at the Freeport KOA (actually in Durham) and the Freeport Village Campground...both are centrally located in south. You probably need to make a decision soon (like last week!) because our experience is that Maine campgrounds fill up early in the season. Another note, the weather for early may in the Freeport area is looking pretty "wet" right now.

X2 on Pumpkin Patch if you want to stay in that area.

Stayed at Pumpkin Patch, Hermon, Maine. Right outside Bangor. Great home base for day tripping.

I agree more info would be helpful. Mountains? Lakes? Coast?

Maine is a big state - are you wanting to go to Acadia? are you wanting to go to the southern part around Portland, up further north? What do you want to do and see? What do you enjoy doing?
