At most campsites in the Park, spacing is plentiful, but remember they are mostly forested areas with plenty of grazing for Elk and Deer. One has to head deeper into the "woods" for denser surroundings. The parks ppl try to keep the campsites as "natural" as possible, after all we are sharing the park with the wildlife... it is their home. So asphalt, cement pads and gravel are kept minimal within the campsites. National Parks use firebox or some would call cook stoves rather the fire pits. Firewood is free but requires you purchase a fire permit each day. Most sites have a pea sized RV pads which are not levelled out (natural surroundings). Spacing between sites plenty, quiet times are strictly enforced, you can not leave coolers etc.. unattended for any time as Wardens will remove them to their post where you will sheepishly have to retrieve them(once you get lectured). At times, some campsites with trouble bears nearby may be closed to tent/Hy-bred TT users, for their safety.
