I will elaborate for you guys:
For years pharmacies in border towns in "MEXICO" not in "TEXAS, NEW MEXICO, ARIZONA or CALIFORNIA" have looked the other way when a certain medication has required a doctors prescription, the MEXICAN government is now requiring that those medications that require a medical prescription be documented with:
1.-The medical prescription that they keep.
2.-A current identification with a photo as in drivers license or INE (Instituto Nacional Electoral) that info is written on the prescription.
If No 2 is not available then:
3.-A bill with the name and address of the same person presenting the prescription as in a water bill, or the electric bill, phone bills are not accepted.
Not all the farmacias in the smaller border towns are compliant or have been caught not following the law, the law is there.
That the law is bypassed yes that is México, the mighty dollar is muy Fuerte!
Los Algodones is a little town in México in the State of Baja California Norte that borders the states of California and Arizona along the Rio Colorado, it is a place where the Snow Birds from the Coachella Valley from Palm Springs to Winter Haven in California and all the Snow Birds from the Yuma, Quartzite, Gila Bend and other wintering areas go to get a lot of medications, also to the dentists.
The law is there and if the farmacias want to follow or look the other way?
