Presque Isle... It is free to get into - there is no camping in the park. There are a bunch of really nice beaches and hiking trails, as well as a paved walking/bike trail. It is not a tourist trap and it is never so busy that it is uncomfortable. There's not much to spend money on unless you want to rent a canoe, a bike, or a Segway.
We think it's beautiful.
X2 definitely - we like to bike on the trails there. Also the park offers a boat ride with v.g. commentary. I think it was free, but that was about 3 years ago. You have to book it ahead of time. There is a lot of history in the park and a guided hike might interest you.
