Provincetown, MA-curious

It's been a long time since I've been to P-town. Last time I was there, oh probably 10-15 years ago, it appeared pretty skanky-very run down, full of what appeared to be drug addicts, very few of the artist and craft shops left. Anyone been recently? I'm very curious as to what it's like now.

Oh it is and more so, kinda in your face but we enjoy walking around and going into the shops.
Had a couple of good meals but it is a lot more expensive to eat there so we like to head back to Eastham and feast on Lobster.
But it is an interesting place for sure.

Just without Palm trees and Mallory Square
  • We visited there last year. If you like the beach check into getting a beach driving permit, we had a lot of fun at Race Point.
  • Sounds like it might be time to head back down there. The beaches out there are the best in the state. Thanks all!
  • We did a day trip last summer, didn't notice anything that looked seedy. As mentioned before, lots of arts & crafts shops.

One thing though, stay away from the restaurants close to the wharf area. We had one of the worse EVER meals in our lives!!

  • We were there two years ago for the first time and thought it was ok. Lots of artsy stuff and had a good time. Didn't seem too drug infested or crime ridden.
