I'd say "come on in." There's tens of thousands of places to boondock north, south, east, and west of downtown Quartzsite. And after the Big Tent Show wraps up this week finding a nice place to boondock will become somewhat easier. Not that it's difficult at all even during Show week.
If you want a specific reference of a place to boondock for up to two weeks at no cost we have always liked Plomosa Road north of town 5.5 miles. You make a right turn onto Plomosa Road and immediately another right turn takes you into a large parking area where the Campground Host is stationed. The Host can fill you in on the camping either side of Plomosa Road. They likely will have a table sitting outside and perhaps a marking flag to help identify their location. (And there is always a small chance they might be down at the Pit Stop taking care of things when you arrive, too.)
On the way north out of town check out the Pit Stop on the right. You can top off your water there and dump the holding tanks if necessary. Or come back there some other day.
Thank you very much MTS, that's exactly what I wanted to know.
Just curious; how many dump stations are there, and how busy is it?
