Rattle snake bite

Glad you are recovering! I can't imagine trying to get help in that circumstance!

Going into brush or suspect country why don't more people wear at least leggings. They cost little and then there is the Mil surplus hard plastic leggings.
I shopped last fall for snakeboots and they have some nice and light 16 to 18 inch high models in stylish camo, at Cabelas, Bass Pro and Sportsman Warehouse.
I have seen some stylish high boots for women and men of the type before they developed cowboy boots with a lining, forgotten the name, that will stop any snake if it get through the leather. One pai I saw, at some time, in Cowboys and Indians mag were 450 to as high as you wont to go on style and leather.

Hi Greg, glad you are doing OK! You were still in the hospital when we left CVRVR on 2/14. Will be there next winter Jan-Mar.

I have a friend that winters in AJ, he has been telling me that at rattler bite can cost 20-30k, guess your bill is close to that.

We had a baby 18" DB on the slab 2 years ago the day we were leaving CVRVR.

I was in ICU 1 day /hospital 2 more days last summer for a saddle pulmonary embolism and they billed almost 30k. Medicare allowed around 11+12k and I paid $865 co-pay. Now a warfarin rat.

Well then here's one for you.

A local Texas farmer near Sinton was telling me that due to all the wild hogs they've reverted to eating snakes. The snakes in turn have reverted to not using their rattlers to announce themselves. His comment was to be extra careful when hiking.
