We spent 2 weeks at Gros Ventre Campground, but its a simple boondocking campground and while there we had 4 bull moose bed down about 100 yards from our campsite for two nights and a few days later a cow moose with twins was less than 50 yards from our site. We did stay at the Head Waters CG,reserve and even with the America the Beautiful pass its expensive. Coulter Bay was booked up, and they were doing some electrical work and had a section close last Sept. If one of you is over 62 you can get the ATB pass at any NP entrance and it will save you a ton of money. Also if you choose one of the full hookup CG make advanced reservations, cause they have the only game in town!
