What to do between San Antonio and Carlsbad Caverns
I was thinking of visiting Carlsbad Caverns when heading west from San Antonio but the 7 hour drive is a bit long to handle in one shot. Do you know of any interesting stops between the two?

In addition to sights around Kerrville and Fredricksburg, we enjoyed several days at south llano river state park at junction tx. We also stayed a night at the passport america park in ft stocton. The was marginal, but safe, adequate and reasonably priced.
