Recommendations for asateague island

Looking for recommendations on a good campsite. Electric would be nice, but I don't know if that is even offered at the seashore
  • I believe it is 50 sites out of about 310 in Maryland state park side that have electric. They do allow generators, but I didn't bring mine last August because it is a loud contractor type.

I love my airconditioning, but the steady ocean breeze as well as awning open and two pop up canopies made for a great trip

Modern bathrooms with showers near all sites
  • There are a few electric sites at Assateaque state park however its very tough to get a electric site due to demand. I'm sure it's book for this summer. Your best bet is late fall or early in the Spring. Getting a site during peak season is almost impossible.
  • I had site 14 at the Seashore and it was pretty huge. I had a good 20ft in front of my 40ft fifth wheel and nobody to the rear and it's about 25 yards to the boardwalk.
  • Assateague State Park on the MD end has one loop with electric. Otherwise no hookups. National Park, also on the MD end is no hookup camping. There is no camping on the southern end of Assateague (VA). Plenty of camping on Chincoteague Island which is a short trip across a bridge from Assateague Island.
  • Assateague state park in Md I've heard is nice never stayed there Dont think it has any electric sites. Maddox family CG I heard was bought out and is now a KOA and has shown signs of improvement. If your a vet you could also check on Bares Beach up in De. National guard facility.
