Recommendations for Jan-March....Desert SW...

I'm on mission to pay a few things off and would like to find an affordable place starting Jan 1 for three months. I'm a single female in a large 5th wheel and for the first time in 9 years on the road with my internet business have had one horrible experience after another so I'm at a low ebb at the moment. Here's a brief description of what I'm looking for:

I have no generator and would need to be plugged in.

I don't need anything in the way of amenities but a nice clean place run by pleasant people who care about what kind of people are in the park is important to me. As is safety.

I like an open feeling, not a lot clutter around. Orderly. Palm trees in the desert appeal to me. Would like to avoid a lot of noise, partying ATV traffic etc...

I like open Good Verizon internet and phone signal.

Near a decent sized town/city as I need to be able to transfer money into my PayPal account for supply orders. Presently doing that via cards you can only get at CVS and a few other places.

Thanks for your input.
  • Look up the http://www.escapees.com/ They have coops in several places in the SW that can be rented, sometimes for long periods. Prices to rent are VERY reasonable, people are nice, the ones we stayed at have been clean and quiet.
  • You don't say where you want to reside.
I'm guessing that it's someplace warm and with internet?
Or you already have internet? (Verizon, etc. which would mean that you need cell signal?)
The easy solution would be to visit Yuma where it will remain fairly warm for the season you claim.
Many RV resorts need renters that will sub-lease spaces from snowbird-owners that are not using the space. Do a Google search and make few phone calls.
  • Might try Canyon Vista at Apache Junction ( just East of Phoenix )

Go to "GS RV Parks" and then start listing the areas and towns that are of interest to you and then

Near a decent sized town/city as I need to be able to transfer money into my PayPal account for supply orders. Presently doing that via cards you can only get at CVS and a few other places.

Go to GS RV Parks web site. Just type in the towns that you might be interested in staying. In general Rural area towns have smaller more family friendly rv parks and the prices are cheaper. Areas like Phoenix, Tucson, Yuma have higher rates. These areas tend to be filled with many
"snow birders" for the warmer winter months. You need to make your reservations as early as possible. I make mine a year in advance but this generally won't be necessary in smaller rural towns. There are many RVer's wanting to do exactly what you are planning for.
    Thanks for your input.
  • A place to consider is Justins diamond J RV park in Tucson AZ. It is about 10 miles south of I-19 off Ajo way. Very quiet, very large spaces, reasonable cost. Owners are very nice and we just like the place. Close to anything you might need but you not "in it". I live in Alamogordo NM, population 35,000, and it has many RV options as well. When you say the South West you have more options than you can imagine. Goof luck in your endeavor.
