Recommendations for trip CA heading anywhere 5 days

Looking for some help finding places to go for our first road trip (did a 2 night stay once so far close to home). We are in the bay area San Francisco, CA. I have about 5-6 days we will be traveling ...

Lessen and crater lake and the redwoods sounds like a great idea for me. Yosemite is too crowded. We live in the coast for new scenery sounds great.
