recommende guide to rv camping in yellowstone book ?

I posted a camping question in yellowstone a couple of weeks ago and got some really good tips. We have a class C that we will be driving thru the park. I've never been to the park and have no idea of the size. someone recommended "camping" as you go thru the park and i loved that idea. is there a good book or camping guide thru yellowstone? we're coming from illinois and will go thru the dakotas and the black hills. i'd really like to start either north or south and camp as we wind thru the park. looking for a guidebook. thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions. we just got back from mackinaw, canadian jaunt, and niagra falls. looking west next year. thanks, jeff
  • There is only one CG with any services in Yellowstone and that's Fishing Bridge. I doubt that you will find it easy to get last minute reservations there. But you could always check for cancellations if you stop at the office.

Yellowstone is big, we have been there a number of times. The last time for 8 days and we just got to visit every major part of the park. You could spent a month there and still have plenty to do. It would probably take 6 to 8 hours to drive all the way across-west to east. Mainly because of the traffic and rubbernecker blockades.
  • edit... I thought you were on your way. I am in Yellowstone now.
