We recently upgraded our 19' Amerilite to a 26' Shadow Cruiser and we are are starting to plan our summer RV trip. I'm pretty sure we are settled on somewhere along the Redwood Highway but I have a few questions I hoped you all could help me with:
1) there seems to be a lot of length restrictions in the campgrounds and when they state a limit I assume it includes the tongue length as well? Or is it just box length?
2) would we be best served to stay in multiple parks, or just find a nice basecamp and work from there?
The topic of campground length always brings up a lot of interesting comments. My experience has been if you can get it into the site, it fits regardless of a published length limit. If not, there almost always is a nearby campground with longer sites or an RV park nearby that can accommodate 60 or 70 foot long rigs. In some cases whether you fit is how well you do at parking. I would not even begin to concern myself until over 30 feet for the TT. Sometimes it is easier to find a place you like and just use it as a base of operations. The trees and coast are well worth the trip.
