Rent a House/Duplex Rather than RV??

Why not rent a park model in an RV park. Usually has all you need in it.
MY DW and I considered buying/renting in a neighborhood. We quickly realized all the socialization we take for granted at the RV resort would be gone.
IN a neighborhood most people work all day leaving the area deserted except for us. When the young people get home they are busy eating, taking care of children and just trying to work up the impetus to go back to the grind the next day. They do not want old folk bothering them. No dances, card games, Happy hour etc

As for a vehicle Fiesta Grande is located close enough to walk to any type store we may need. We rent a car once or twice a month for the weekend. I am sure there are similar elsewhere

I agree with darsben1, a lot of my winter friends own or rent park models.
I would go that way myself when the time comes.

Also some just park their RV permanently on the lot and fly back and forth.
Annual lot rents are pretty reasonable.

both have great idea,s , I now fly back and forth, but I stay at my brother in laws. wish the rv was here some times.

Why not leave the RV down there? Put it in storage down there when not using it, then fly back and forth. We live in Alaska and leave the MH someplace down south - it hasn't been back to Alaska in almost five years.

You should be able to find turnkey homes or condos in snowbird areas that only require you to bring your toothbrush. We own a condo that we used to rent out seasonally that came with everything.

So you use the owner's kitchen utensils when you rent? What about sheets and towels? Seems kind of personal.

I've thought about leaving the 5th wheel there. But how to get it out of storage & park it w/o truck? Plus, like to have it here for short trips.

In Yuma where Park Models are rented out you pretty much only have to bring your toothbrush and personal items as everything is furnished. Yes, sheets, towels etc are all furnished. Some off my renters bring there own sheets, pillows, TVs, wash rags, what ever but they would not have to. As far as leaving the RVs in Yuma, I have several that do that on my lots. If you leave your RV in storage you can always find someone with a P/Up to move it back onto the lot or Park for a small fee or free

The same sheets, towels, and pillows that are washed and reused thousands of times in a hotel ? Seems different, but...

Check in the area where you camp, most likely there are services that will deliver your camper for you. We've been to a few campgrounds where these delivery services even set the camper up (get it level, hook up water, sewer, electric, etc.).

If you like the campground atmosphere with activities you'd enjoy renting a Park model a lot more than renting a house. Plus... it is a lot less expensive. Yes, they are usually fully-equipped with everything you might need. If not... there's a WalMart close.

Keep in mind that once you fly there you will need a car to travel around.

If you leave your RV there you can find transporters to place it on a lot.

Have you just thought of going to south Texas for those months - a lot closer for you?
