caysea7254, you are from Indiana. As you know (probably only too well), if you DO NOT make a reservation at an Indiana State Park, more than likely, you'll not get a site. Especially parks like Brown County. Perhaps your husband just doesn't realize this, like you do, because you have been able to make those reservations. He's never "just gone" and arrived at a campground to be turned down because they were full.
So ... here's your chance. Why not just go ... on the fly ... and forget the reservations. Yes, just forget them. However ... Make sure this decision is 100% absolutely HIS.
After spending a couple night at a Wall Mart parking lot, he'll have you on the cell phone scrambling for a reservation. As YOUR back up plan, have some extra cash tucked away so you can spend a few night in a motel, or at least ... park in a motel parking lot.
I promise you, he'll never do it this way again!
It sounds like your husband is a business man, he lives a daily routine at work with appointments and deadlines. Trust me ... he won't be able to handle the "willie - nillie" life style. It will drive him nuts not being in control.
