Resort Fees

During the past eight years of winter Rving, we have occasionally stayed in RV parks with resort fees--$3.00-$4.00 a day for use of the facilities. We are presently renting in Outdoor Resorts in Cathedral City, paying reasonable resort fees of $4.00 a day. The resort is considering raising the daily fee to $10.00 next season, with the rationale that a survey taken of other similar properties showed resort fees over $10.00 a day. Is this correct? If you have paid resort fees, how much?
  • BUt raising resort fee is a back door way of raising rates but still showing a reasonable rate online.
Vegas has learned this trick well. Sometimes the resort fee exceeds the price per night for the room.
Where I am in Casa Grande there is a resort fee of $4.00 per night on stays of less than 30 days
  • You must stay at higher class places than me. I have never encountered a resort fee.
  • We cannot afford RV resorts, but I can understand a charge for facilities that some people do not use, but ONLY if the non-users can have the fee waived.

Never seen a fee in 1 campground out of 235 over the last 6 years

Me neither, we would vote on that by getting back in the truck and leaving. That's the free enterprise system in operation. If I don't like your price I don't buy whatever it is.
