We would like to visit the RGV area this coming winter. We walk a lot so would prefer parks within walking distance(a mile) to stores (Walmart, Grocery Stores) etc. Would like something away from ...

Some people like Mission , but it,s on the western edge of the RGV for parks. We stay in a nice park in Alamo and it's closer to the middle of the "action" so to speak. Don't lock into anything the first year.Stay a month or so at a time in different places to see what you like.
