Rincon Country West RV Resort security problem

I have been at Rincon Country West in Tucson, AZ since Jan 6. There have been 50 to 60 bicycle thefts this season. The park management has refused to acknowledge there is a security problem and has not done anything to increase protection against intruders. If you stay here and have a bicycle, be sure to lock it up with hardened chain and a U-lock. Only use locking devices that are rated for high crime areas as the thieves have been cutting through the largest of cables. I would also recommend making sure you use deadbolt locks to lock your RV at night and leave no valuables out where they may be seen.

  • The primary concern of Rincon Country has always been guest safety. We are very concerned with these thefts. We have had a security company employed for day and night rounds of the park, we have courtesy patrol, and we have been working with the Tucson police crime prevention, and implementing their suggestions, to bring an end to this problem.

  • If mgmt refuses to acknowledge a theft problem, maybe they are part of it!
  • Had the same problem at Tip of Texas RV resort a few years back...It was not kids but some folks in a MH that had loaded the rig up with 20 -25 bikes and was headed home with them...The guards at the entrance gate suspected these were the ones that were stealing the bikes and stopped them at the gate and did a search...surprise surprise they were arrested and most got their bikes back.
  • Sounds like there are a few kids in the neighborhood that need a smack upside the head
  • Why not move? Voyager RV resort is not that far, and I'll bet they will be responsive to security concerns. In fact, there are several top notch RV parks in Tucson that you could move to.

But really 50-60 bike thefts from one RV park?
