If we don't camp some nights then we don't take this trip. I'm trying to keep costs down. That is why I plan to break it up some and stay in motels along the way and in LA. I have no intention of camping in LA. We will camp two nights at Mather at GC and then the girls want to spend a day on the beach in Malibu so I thought camping on the beach for a couple nights would be cost effective and allow us to really enjoy the beach.
Next I am trying to figure out if we will have time to head up to Sequoia/Kings Canyon for a couple nights or head back down I-10 with a stop in Tombstone in a motel and then Carlsbad Caverns. I'm thinking Brantely Lake would be a possible place to camp there. However I Have posted in the tent camping section to get some tent friendly campground suggestions.
