Route ideas/ Campgrounds near Cape Coral, Fl, Tampa, St Pete

Planning a trip mid March from Myrtle Beach to Key West, then crossing Fl to west coast - plan to visit friends in Cape Coral, then North Point, Tampa/St Pete areas, then return back to MB. Traveling...

x2 for the KOA on Pine Island. We were there for a couple weeks (Christmas/New Years+) and it was great - I too read the reviews and I don't agree with them. Quick and easy drive to Cape Coral too.
