What's your aversion to WV? I live in Wilmington NC, so very close to you and just did a trip to Buffalo to ride the Erie canal bike trail. I avoid driving NOVA/95 Fredericksburg, 495/270 like the plague. Your best bet is 95 N, 17 at Fredericksburg, 66 over to 81N in WV, 70 West in MD and then proceed North from there (76/99). I find WAZE offers the best routes.
No aversion, just seems there has to be a more direct way and my SC husband is more used to flat land😜. Trying to avoid starting our first long distance trip by going through the WV mountains. Plus, I’m from KY and have seen lots of WV, so it’ll be nice to have a route where we both see new things. That looks like a much better route, and we get to see the Shenandoah Valley. Thanks so much for the route advice.
