Thanks everyone. Our trouble is we worked in Calif when we retired 21 yrs ago and got to love the SLO and Morgan Hill areas of that state. Love the cool dry weather and all the things to do,couldn't afford to retire there, and love Texas. We went back each summer for about 14 yrs. But now we can only travel about 300 mi/day and have to rest every 2 or 3 days. That translates to about a week each way, and very tiring. I just can't get used to the lack of restaurants and things to do (not that an old F@rt does much) in the Rocky Mts. May just have to go to the Metroplex in July/Aug and let both AC's roar.
