We enjoyed the Ridgway, Ouray & Silverton area a few years back, as well as Mueller SP. The Colorado SP facilities we have been to are leaps and bounds above anything in Texas, which is really kinda sad, but I've heard that's suppose to change in the not too distant future.
Mountaindale RV is really nice as well.
We spent about 10 days last summer at Stockade Lake South in Custer SD and it was excellent. It's one of the smaller campgrounds in the Custer State Park system, but that made for a great trip. Probably one of the most memorable that we have done. If you can handle the l-o-n-g, f-l-a-t drive across the midwest, might be something you want to consider.
Problem is that it's a hard days drive just to get out of Texas
