Rt 220 S from Roanoke VA to Greensboro NC?

From those in the know, how are these highways for towing a 40' 5er?

Or perhaps a suggestion for a better different route.

Many Thanks.

  • There is no reason for you not to go. I do it all the time with 35ft towing. Follow 220 south to US68 then straight to I40. just follow the trucks.

    Thanks, I am all set.

We decided to leave from Staunton, VA via RT #64 onto #288 around Richmond, VA and onto I-95 south. This was a great highway to tow a 40 5er over.

    Many thanks.

  • where are you coming from and going to? I live in Mt. Airy, NC - if you are going south, like to FL I would stay on I81 to I77 then south.
  • Personally, I would look at 81-s to 77-s that's what the locals favor. However I must state...I am not a local.
  • All depends where you are coming from and where you are going.
  • This must be a bad route for no answers in 24 hours. I will travel another way. Thanks all who read.
