Sounds like you are looking for a "resort" type campground? They are certainly around, you just have to keep looking. And... they are usually substantially more expensive to stay at. In Connecticut, you could try Odetah campground in Bozrah. When we were there a few years ago the "diner" down by the lake would be switched to a "club" at night with a live band and bar for adults (I don't know if they still do that). Up in the Lake George area, years ago we had fun at Lake George Evergreen Resort (which is different than Lake George Resort), which had a bar and lots of activities.
