WA 20 is a good choice!
Once you get over toward Winthrop, watch for signs. WA 153 washed out after the fires. A portion of WA 20 has a marked detour. Of course this will change on short notice.
Once you get over to the Omak area, I would suggest cutting over to Electric City and take Gander at Grand Coulee Dam. Too late for laser show!
I would then meet up with US 2 and follow it to Glacier and then south on US 287 toward Yellowstone. Many different routes to choose.
