My DH was stationed on the SS New Jersey ship when he was in the Navy. It is now a museum in Camden, NJ and would like to make trip there to see it. I believe it is right across the river from Philad...

I believe you said you were comming from Washing DC.....if so look into Amtrak to Philly from there you will need transportation to the SS NJ
Try calling the SS NJ direct and ask about transportation from Amtrak to the ship....tell them you served on the shipand maybe they can arrange something for you.

Funny story about the SS NJ.....when they got the ship and the debate was where they were going to put it. In either Bayone NJ or Camden, The local radio station was talking about it and everone was stating how each city would benifit from it...it was getting a little boring until I called in on the air, my suggestion was the battship should sail up the Delaware River one last time towards Camden and as it comes around the bend it should unload all it's guns on the city and level everything.....I told them you would solve the crime problems and you could have a fresh start on the city.....that got the next few callers a little crazy
