I, for one and probably only one, hate the new layout. I find it confusing and just to busy. I don't know why they felt the need to change it and have asked that they change it back. Am I alone?

Nope....don't like the new and improved site.
Seems there is always some new web designer that convinces an entity that they need to update/upgrade/improve something that actually works.
