DW and I are heading to Estes Park CO for a week of relaxation and would like to hear recommendations for good places to park. We prefer full-hookup site but could do without sewer if CLEAN showers are available. Thanks. BTW we are traveling in our 38' motorhome and towing a jeep liberty.
Not to go against the grain here - but IMHO - this time of year in RMNP and Relaxation, just might not be used in the same sentence. :S
Relaxation - IMHO - would be Possibly the San Juan's or Collegiates.
Similar Beauty in the Mountains, but not the Destination that RMNP is.
San Juan's - 4x4 trails to die for - Lake City - Ouray - Telluride - Silverton - Ridgway - just to name a few.
Collegiates - Rt 82 in the Toad to Aspen/Maroon Bells - Buena Vista and the new Browns Canyon NM - Leadville/Turquoise Lake/Camp Hale/Quincy's.
Granted not RMNP but if you get into the right CG this could just be the most relaxing Vacation you will find in Colorado.
With your Jeep Liberty you will be able to traverse many of the milder 4x4 trails.:B
Not a Sermon Just a thought,
Best of Luck, where ever you decide.
