I can't believe TRAILER VILLAGE is filled. Are you talking of next year? It's the best place to be as you would be right at the Rim and the free shuttle picks you up at the campground entrance.
The next closest one is Camper Village in Tusayan, AZ just outside the national park entrance. It doesn't get good reviews, however.

After those two you'll have to go to Williams and it's a long boring drive each day if you visit the park daily. Parking in the national park isn't easy either.
If I were you I'd keep trying for TRAILER VILLAGE - in the park.
If you can do without hookups Mather or Desert View dry campgrounds in the national park are very nice depending on the size of your RV. There's also Ten-X national forest campground outside the park also in Tusayan.
