We are also going to visit the Olympic Peninsula while in the area. Any tips on rving with a 35ft fifth wheel in that area? Best routes to take, routes we should avoid, rv parks etc?
Are you going to do this before or after you go to Seattle? If before, I would advise hitting Olympia and going out to the coast and heading north on 101. From Aberdeen, you're going to want to head out to the Ocean Shores area and there are a couple of parks, state and private there. Heading north up 101, you're going to hit Lake Quinalt first and there is a private park there. Next is the Hoh river area with an awesome rain forest. I would advise staying in Forks at the 101RV park and using that as a base camp for several days. There are a couple of parks out at Neah Bay and the area is worth a couple of days of sightseeing. After that, I'd head for Port Angeles and stay at the KOA for a base camp when going to see where they've pulled the dams off of the Elwha river, go up to Hurricane ridge and best of all, take the ferry to Victoria. Next is the town of Sequim with the Dungeness spit and lighthouse. Port Townsend is a not to miss and has two great parks, Fort Worden state park, which you probably won't be able to get into 'cuz it's usually booked up and Point Hudson. Heading south the option is to take the ferry from Bainbridge to Seattle, but it's easier and cheaper to drive down to Tacoma and up the freeway to Seattle. I would also advise staying at Lake Pleasant rv park as it's more central.
