- JoeHExplorer IIIIt's a great place, especially on a hot summer day- jump into the 72 degree water for a cool off. Just up the road you can go to Juniper Springs and rent a canoe and paddle down the run and they will pick you up and bring you back in a bus. At Salt Springs you could also rent a boat and take it down the run to Lake George - teh boat rental fees were pretty reasonable, that was a few years ago.
- 2012ColemanExplorer IIAwesome - thanks for the pictures! I did view on google, but the ground photos were what I was looking for. Looks like it could be a great spring time destination, although we do want to do some winter trips.
- Dutch_12078Explorer IIWe were on site #85 at Salt Springs last January, and we'll be back again next February. Both AT&T and Verizon worked reasonably well for us.
- Retired_JSOExplorerWas a private facility in years past. Paved sites, water 50 amp and sewer at all sites. Some are shaded but the entire campground is open. Great for summer and spring. Very little TV coverage and cell service is sparse. Our Verizon seems to work every visit.
Salt Springs - dockmasterdaveExplorerThere is a facebook page "floridarvcamping" There are also pages for the other southern states and possibly more.
- Jayco-noslideExplorerAt one time it was private; thus the water, elec. and maybe sewer. Now it's a Federal campground but operated by a concessionaire. Been awhile since we camped there but I don't recall much vegetation among the sites so I would say open.
- Wills6_4_HemiExplorerI have been to wilderness Rv resort just down stream of silver springs in Ocala. Very nice campgound and if I could afford to buy a lot there I would! Love that area. I have salt springs on my to do list.
- Big_KatunaExplorer IIUse Google Earth. Lots of medium oaks but not heavily vegetated. Some open spots.
Great place. Cell service was spotty and I heard they added WiFi.
