We have never been there but have worked at forest campgrounds where reservations were taken. There were selected sites that were reserved for drive up/walk-in campers only and people could not reserve them. In our case it was about 1/2 of the # of sites that were non-reservable. Many people may have cancelled their reservations during the shutdown. Don't know what availability is like in FL, but in 2 1/2 yrs we have never made a reservation and we have never been unable to get a site.(in other states)
