Were looking to visit salton sea, CA. I'm wondering of the various RV parks near the sea what are the finest ones to visit. Pools, activities, price, passport america allowed, attractions, etc. Thanks Mark

I would suggest you look at Anza Borrago, just a few miles west of the Salton Sea. Beautiful oasis desert with palm trees. There are very nice RV parks with full amenities and a State park at the end of town.

I haven't stayed over there but have visited the east side and unfortunately didn't have my nose plugs with me.

Glamis North Hot springs, resturant, store, etc. Not too far from Bombay Beach.Blu-Inn RV Park Good if you have OHVs, otherwise, it's kinda far from the Salton Sea

If you have never been to the "Sea" you could be in for a rude awakening.It's nothing more than a huge cesspool of root beer colored water that makes foam at waters edge.Dead Tilapia (fish) are everywhere.It stinks....it's ugly and the wind is relentless.20-30 years ago, the fishing was great for large (10 lb+) orange mouth corvina. Although I have not been there in a couple of decades, I can imagine this fishery is bleak, if even that.This "Sea" is fed on the south end by the New River. This river starts up with agricultural runoff and irrigation canals in Mexicali Mexico.By the time this "river" makes it way north across the Imperial Valley in CA, more AG runoff, with the attendant chemical composition of fertilizers and pesticides, it's very toxic to fish.Birds and critters love it......it's classic riparian habitat.The water itself is very salty......way more than the open ocean. Frankly, I would never ever go there again. It's that ugly.

Go to Anza Borrego (Borrego Springs), or ElCentro two there Sunbeam or Rio Bend. BBT

Wow Wow Wow Wow. Gosh Ive never seen written a worse description of a place. Thanks so much. We will be at the FMCA rally in Indio--I thought it might be a nice place to spend a week afterwards for some sun. Guess I'll look at some of your recommendations. Thanks again.

We took a driving tour on the nw side of salton sea. Drove into a "town" to get closer to the water. Saw drug deals going down and police driving around. Roads potted and old. Got out of there quickly. Drove into Oasis RV park. Nice but nothing spectacular either.
