San Antonio Texas

Going to spend a few days next week in San Antonio Texas. Other than the Alamo and the River Walk, anything else there that we should not miss?

Of course you have the Alamo, river walk, 6 Flags, the missions, and Sea World. We also have the Zoo and botanical gardens, several museums and the market square. I've eaten a Rudy's before and do not like it, too greasy for me.

For brisket at Rudy's, order extra lean with outside crust (the driest part).
    Turkey is good.
First time visitors can get a sample of everything or whatever they offer to sample.

The missions and the Alamo are close to each other by todays standards. The Alamo will be the popular mission.
  • Rudy's is good BBQ but I like Coopers BBQ better. New Braunfels downtown area is full of interesting things to see and do.
  • Greene Tx oldest danced hall
    tower of America's
    The Hill country LBJ Ranch
    Natural Bridge Cavern's
Natural Bridge Wild life drive thru park.
you can't go wrong with any Texas BBQ (everyone has a opinion on the best) personally I like Rudy's among any that I have tried.
Mexican food same way haven't found any I haven't liked.

  • My sister travels to San Antonio often.....she talks about, "Rudy's Barbecue. "
Might want to give it a try.
  • If you have kids there is a six flags or equivalent outside of SA. I had plenty of business trips to SA - always enjoyed the restaurants and basketball.
  • The missions are worth a look, I think there are several in and around the city.
