- JColemanExplorerWhile Travelers world gets the vote for being the closest to downtown San Antonio, if you are like us and prefer a more country atmosphere, Hidden Valley RV in SW San Antonio (Von Ormy?) is only 15 minutes or so from downtown attractions but was very friendly and had trees, a private creek and the sites felt roomy.
- The_TexanExplorerWe first stayed in Travelers World in 1999 and it is our go to, if the Ft Sam famcamp is full. Great location and there was an excellent Mexican restaurant just across the street from the main entrance.
- TyroneandGladysExplorerAnother vote for Travelers World
- Tom_BarbExplorerOur Kids house, but that is a well kept secret. :)
- BB_TXNomadDepends on your primary interest I guess. Travelers World RV Resort is a short distance south of downtown and the Riverwalk and on a main route to drive straight there. Or catch a bus in front of the park also to go directly downtown. We prefer to drive and found it easy to park within a block of the Riverwalk. One of the better restored missions on the Mission Trail is just south of the park. And a Walmart just south of that if you need to restock.

What is the best RV park to stay at in San Antonio, TX?
What do you want to do in San Antonio? For going into town, or for the Mission Trail, I like Travelers World, a bit south of the city center on the Mission Trail. There is easy access to public transit. The KOA also has transit access, is east of the center rather than west.
If you are going to SA for Sea World and the theme and water parks, the best location for that is Admiralty, just inside Loop 1604.
If "best" means something other than location, Admiralty gets a lot of good recommendations. There are other suburban resort-like parks on the south side of Loop 1604, also up toward Bulverde and at the Guadalupe River, and in the public parks at Canyon Lake.
For my RV visits, before I had family there to stay with, I used Travelers World. Some people I know don't like how crowded this one can get, and tend to worry about it being in a multi-ethnic urban neighborhood.
