Santa Margarita area
Does anybody know of a boondocking area around Santa Margarita Lake area? The closer the better

I haven't been to the lake specifically, but I remember when I went through the region a couple years a go, the NF forest map said boondocking was ok everywhere in the forest except a couple small areas. I wonder if the Rinconada trailhead would be a good spot? Google says it is little-used :B.
East of there, Pozo Road looks to make a brief loop into the forest. There don't seem to be any ungated side roads, but some wide turnouts. Are you looking for a place for a night, or for actual camping?
