Saugauck Michigan Camping Recommendations

Just make sure to check out the websites and see if it offers the amenities you are looking for. There is one that I have seen that caters to the homosexual lifestyle. Could be a little shocking to some if they were not expecting that. Not that there's anything wrong with it.

We always camp at Van Buren State Park just south of South Haven and usually make a day trip up to Saugatuck. It's only about 20 miles from South Haven to Saugatuck and there are places to stop along the way for fresh fruit & veggies, antique stores, Fenn Valley Winery, and Crane Orchards. Holland State Park is nice, but it's located north of Holland and you have to deal with plenty of traffic and many stop lights to get down to Saugatuck.

Holland SP Has fhu sites at their beach campground, if that's what you're looking for. Make reservations asap.

Go online for Cousins Campground in South Haven. They are very private people and don't advertise because they want to keep a better class of clientele which I assume you are. It is a pretty campground with nice facilities and a restaurant on the premises. Convenient to the Saugatuck area.
While in the area check out Cranes Orchard for lunch; a very popular place, and the Fennville Winery both in Fennville.

What kind of amenities are you looking for? Not sure what there is for private campgrounds locally, but you would have the Holland State Park to the north and Van Buren near South Haven to the south.

Both are great campgrounds. The actual Holland State park would be about 30 minutes north of Saugatuck. I am guessing about 10 would be expressway and the balance will be getting around/through Holland. It's a great campground to stay at though.
