New Green Acres is a great park for stopping along 95. Before kids we would stop there on the way down for a quick night. Super convenient to 95, but not loud, great big pine trees and really cool pine cones that my wife would pick up and bring back home. Its still an hour from Savannah though.
For staying in Savannah we usually go to Red Gate Campground. Red Gate is about 15 minutes off 95 in a nice quiet area, still only 15 minutes to Savannah.
Last year we stayed at Creek Fire RV Resort, which is maybe 5 minutes off 95, west of 95. Its about 30 minutes to Savannah. Creek Fire is a very nice place and they were still adding amenities last year. Beautiful post and beam gathering place with fireplace, pool, lazy river, restaurant, playground, fire pit.
We've also stayed at James Island County Park, but that is further south and further off 95. Its at least an hour and a half to Savannah.
They are all great parks though, you won't have any issues with any of them!
