The comments by Old-Bisquit and pjsky hit it on the mark for me. We are at Devils Tower now. Spending 3 nights at the KOA. Views are terrific. We have done the paved walk around the tower on two mornings before the crowds arrive and got different perspectives each time. And seeing the climbers ascending the tower is amazing. :E
We went to Hulett, a nearby town, for supplies and met a guy running a small museum who had more history of the monument then we learned at the visitors center.
Tomorrow we head for the Big Horn battlefield area for two nights.
