Going to be traveling back and forth between Sacramento, CA and Waldport, OR (on the coast) and making it a two-day trip each way. Traveling I-5 between Sacramento and Eugene, then cutting over to Florence before going up the coast to Waldport. I have never driven north of Ashland on I-5, but it seems like someplace between Ashland and Eugene would be a good place to stop for the night. Am pulling a 27 foot travel trailer and looking for an RV park that's not out of the way and has full hookups, hopefully someplace scenic maybe on a river.Any suggestions much appreciated!

We always use Valley of the Rouge State Park for our I-5 stop over....LINKHave a good trip.

There are good reviews about the park in Canyonville too.

You might try Seven Feathers at exit 99 good food and top rated RV park are you can dry camp free. Good food and you can leave there with a pocket full of money are less.

When we travel from Yuba City to the pacific northwest we stay at Yreka RV Park. If winter weather is forecast it's a great place to wait for an opportunity to get over the passes to Ashland.

We then head to Sutherlin OR. and catch 138 towards the coast and spend the night at the Elkton RV Park right on the Umpqua river. From Elkton it's about 35 miles to Reedsport and 101. 138/38 is by far the easiest route from the I-5 corridor to 101.

Where are you staying in Waldport? We are considering a stay there for crabbing.

Thumbs up on Seven Feathers. It was so clean you could practically eat off the streets. Just be sure you don't leave any towels out to dry--the sprinklers come on at the crack of dawn.:S

We like Twin Rivers in Roseburg. A little way off the highway, but very quiet and park-like -- lots of shade.
