- Dave-SparkyExplorerI have not camped there as we live in Sequim, but We have driven through and looked at the amenities and it looks good.
Are you familiar with the Washington State park reservation system? Reservation link This site will let you reserve a spot and generally provides previews if the sites themselves.
Also out here there are some very good Clallam County Parks that are well worth a visit. We particularly like Salt Creek Recreation Area Campground that is on the bluff overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca. It is about 1 hour west of Sequim Bay.Salt Creek
I will send you a PM so you can call and ask any questions, and maybe meet for coffee as you pass through our area.
Dave - BigdogExplorerThat's a nice state park and is kinda in the middle of several places.Port Townsend is 20-30 miles to the east, there is a casino about 3 miles down the road and Sequim is about 10 miles to the west. With your rig, you'll have no problem finding a nice site. There is also a launch ramp there for Discovery Bay fishing if you have a boat. It's kind of tight for large trailers and MH's to go around the hookup section, but if I have figgered out that you have a truck camper,no prob. I have had several folks tell me that you can't take a large MH in there, soooo I did have to drive my 40' Thomas school bus thru it.No problem.
I might suggest that you might want to check out Fort Worden and Point Hudson in Port Townsend and there are several private rv parks in Sequim along with the Dungeness county park.On the east side of Port Angeles there are a couple and then on the west side several more. Also a couple of NPS cgs there. Have fun and with your camper you'll be able to find lots of places.
Hi Dave. Haven't heard from you folks for awhile. Next time we're camping at Port Townsend,we'll let you folks know. - lanerdExplorer IIOur Tiffin mh club has reservations there next June for a week stay. Big Dog...I hope it's not too tight to maneuver around as several of our members have 40 footers and of course our 43 footer.
Can't wait to explore Olymipic Nat Park and make the ferry trip over to Victoria.
Ron - crabbin_cabinExplorer IIWE tried to get our 30 ft. fiver +truck in there a few years ago. Too tight for us. Ended up in John Wayne marina Resort - just a mile or so toward Sequim. Nice park but not fancy. When we had to give up the RV ( health reasons) we actually stayed 2 weeks in one of the cabins in the "Resort". And will go back! Lovely facility and fantastic view of the Bay!
- Roy_LynneExplorerWe stayed there a while back and it's not my favorite Washington State Park but we liked the area. Its sort of parking lot like.
If I were going to do it again, I think I would go to Fort Flagler. - BigdogExplorer

I think that there are a couple of sites near the front of the hookup loop that are big enuff. Let me know when you are leaving so that I can come and watch. The bus I drove thru there is an 84 passenger, full 40' plus dropdown mirrors and I made it ok. - RVcrazyExplorerToo tight for us!

Psarking lot,I think you're thinking about another park. Fort Worden or point Hudson in Port Townsend perhaps.
Sequim Bay is in the woods with a whole bunch of non-hookup sites and a smaller loop of hookup sites that range in size from 40+ feet MHs to much smaller sites. Last time we camped there was in our 27' Wilderness TT. - 2gypsies1Explorer III

We would never try to get our 40' MH in there. I'm surprised a MH club would even consider it. Wooded, narrow roads and only a few for bigger rigs. Certainly not a 43', in my opinion. Fort Worden would be a nice one for big rigs. - lanerdExplorer II

Sorry.... my mistake. Our reservations are at the Gilgal rv park in Sequim. I guess it is new and is more in town than the state park.
